The Safecheck Closed Pack Inspection System Seeing is Believing!
Safecheck CPI is a non-camera vision system suitable for inspection of closed pack contents and applications where conventional optical methods have proved unsuccessful. It is a revolutionary method, which uses capacitance techniques in an innovative way. Safecheck CPI builds up an image of the contents of a closed pack as it passes through an array of sensing elements. Conventional image processing tools are then applied to this information which enables the unit to detect a variety of errors. These include missing or broken off product, incorrectly positioned components and other deviation from the acceptable standard. All this is possible through plastic, cardboard and single-sided foil packages.
The product can be used throughout the packaging industry although some specific niche applications have already been developed. Currently there are two trial(demo) systems and one installed unit in the field. Multiple repeat orders are expected for the installed system very soon. The market in the world for this type of end of line inspection system is believed to exceed 400-600 unit per year growing rapidly into 1000's in future. It also requires very little technical support and it is not required to employ high calibre engineers to construct the product. The system is expected to sell for around $20000 to $30000 US dollars depending on applications. Compared to sell price, the direct cost of product is very low (below $5000 dollars).
The product has already been demonstrated at various leading packaging shows in the UK, USA and Japan through distributors. The enormous amount of response received proves that a small company with limited resource will not be able meet the demanding nature of application engineering.
